May 20, 2016,  Congers, NY.  Senator David Carlucci 5K Fun Run

Over 200 people attended Senator Carlucci’s 5K Fun Run at Rockland Lake to benefit the Larisa Karassik Foundation and the RRR Scholarship Fund on May 19, 2016.

Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what   is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people   around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?”

One of Larisa's "bucket list wishes" was to "send shoes to Africa." We are so grateful that together, we were able to fulfill this mission that Larisa never had a chance to complete,  by collecting over 800 pairs of shoes to donate to people in need.

The shoes have been gathered and are ready to be sent to Ghana, West Africa.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this collection possible.

Every soul needs a sole!

News and Events

December 13, 2016  West Nyack, NY - Sheriff Robert Moger from the Clarkstown Sheriff's Department and The Larisa Karassik's Foundation make presentation at Clarkstown South High School to Larisa's Sophomore Class of 2018.

The presentation was intense, emotional and a real eye opener for many students to the dangers and consequences of drunk driving. People die every day and it can happen to anyone. This happened to our family, to our 13-year-old daughter Larisa.

“Education, awareness and prevention is the mission of the foundation and of today's presentation. I was grateful and honored to share my story with approximately 360 students this month along with Sheriff Moger,” Karassik said.

Sheriff Moger discussed the NY State laws regarding DWI, illegal drugs, RX prescriptions and driving and driving. Moger commented “I believe this is the start of more presentations in the future. Awareness and education is the best prevention to put an end to DRUNK DRIVING!.”

Thank you the Administrators at CSHS, Ms. Bentley and Ms. Susan Solar for making this presentation possible. Thank you to all of Larisa's friends, classmates, teammates and acquaintances for allowing us to share this presentation with you. #larisastrong
